18th.April 2010 Oliver Cromwell was in Scotland and made two trips over the Forth Bridge, through Fife and back on the recently opened Alloa line through Stirling. I was on the morning train leaving from Linlithgow. Unfortunately it rained. |

| Most trains on Snowdon seem to be propelled by these disel locomotives. While they are interesting and do the job they can't match up to the original steamers |

| On a recent trip to Holland I saw a few interesting trains and trams |
| First was Stoomtram Hoorne. Standard gauge and about 40kilometers with about half a dozen beautifully restored locomotives. Many coaches and wagons and several attactive stations. |

| Nearby is Harlem which had a tram system but only two seem to survive - in the bus garage. Beware this small museum has limited opening hours. |

| Not often you can report the opening
of a complete new railway. But this is one. Near Perth it
is run by Perth model engineers. There is a good circuit
already complete with loops, turntable, shed, signal box
and workshop. It is dual gauge 5inch and 7 1/4inc. With 7
acres available there will be more to come. Look out for public open days. |

| The Great Britain tour train passed Stirling on 10th
April 2007. It was hauled North by the A4 and the K4
joined it in Pert for the run to Inverness. Pictures show the two locos returning South through Stirling on 15th April, A4 arriving in Perth and the K4 in Perth all on 10th April. |

little know even here in Scotland is this 2 foot
industrial bases line at the Almond Vale country park in
Livingston, a large "new" town near Edinburgh.
