(Sound on this page is EWS Class 37 leaving Perth on the Roayal Scotsman luxury tour train in October 2000 - Thanks to C. Davis)

A new local railway showing the early stages and hopefully more pictures as progress is made. This will be a small diameter:

A recent line in Aberdeen LGB train in Aberdeen

Mainly US stock but seen here with visiting French motive power. This is the Corpet-Louvet on the curve French visitor
And in the station we find the resident Mikado waiting untio the French train has arrived. The station
The terminus (now a through station) on another pleasant line

These three pictures show why you need wide curves with modern American trains. On a circuit completed two days earlier an Aristo-craft Dash9 and 14 Bachmann coal hoppers deliver the goods near Oban in November 2004. Coal train near Oban

This is an interesting battery powered railway in the woods - built on wooden foundations - three pictures. There is still a lot of planting and landscaping to be done here as well as an extension into the storage shed. Three pictures In the woods

And another feature found on a local railway - a PIKO (operating) gravel plant - supplied by Scottish Garden Railways. Apparently the gravel is actually sessame seeds which the birds can eat when it spills. PIKO working gravel works

In the East of Scotland is this really compact little railway using LGB Multi train system throughout. Everything can be run by remote control - including switching on the station lamps. - again almost all items supplied by Scottish Garden Railways. Overall view

This time you can see a totally different approach to a garden railway - layed directly on to decking in a few hours (by me as it happens). Very decorative and low maintenance. Round the fountain

Layout in West Lothian has lots of little interesting detail in a beatiful garden setting. Small railway round the pond

The start ...

Two railways in Fife.

First two pictures are of a long narrow multi level layout using US and European stock. Interesting to note that all the brown supports you see are made of plastic salvaged from roof edging boards.

The next two pictures show a railway built into a compact back garden and occupying almost all of it. All US outline stock

At last, a railway being constructed in Stirling. This was actually the first run on the complted circuit. Roofing felt cover will be added then maybe a tunnel, a station and some lights. Stirling railway

A novel use for Gnomy tram trailers (£1.50 plus postage from me) made by LGB. - NOTE these are NOT G scale Gnomy Cafe
